If you happen to be tired of the clutter around your home, then you will need to do something about it, making a change and bringing a breath of fresh air into your home. Nothing will be worse than trying to look for something under piles of poorly organized clothes. Getting things in order will not only allow you to deal with all of this, but it will make your life much easier. The following organizing tips will help you get it all under control:

  • Clearing the wardrobe

You should take items you don’t think you’ll need anytime soon, setting them aside. This is a pretty important step, as it will allow you to remove all clothes that don’t fit anymore, as well as others you simply don’t like. If you haven’t really worn a piece of clothing for a long while, then you will need to consider whether it is really worth keeping it around. Donating to a thrift store or possibly a charity will be a much better idea than letting it crowd your wardrobe instead. Clothes can become smaller or looser as we gain and lose weight, so chances are you will likely need to make some changes before long. This will be especially useful if you’re doing some house cleaning, cleaning in general or just junk removal around your home. The clothes can be easily donated, but you can go beyond that doing a downsizing of the rest of your home and dealing with a full domestic cleaning in the end.

  • Measuring phase

If you have a good understanding of exactly how large or small your closet is, this will let you pick boxes easier so you can organize things by category. Doing so will allow you to have a much easier time dealing with it, bringing improved efficiency into the setup and what it has to offer.

  • Using hangers

This is one pretty important part of the clothes storage around the wardrobe and closet areas in your home. Hangers let you control how well-stored your clothes are, but you should pick ones that work well for your type of clothes. Padded hangers are a great solution when you need to deal with more delicate clothes, plastic hangers can work for shirts, while wooden hangers are much stronger and they can be used for leather jackets and suits without fail. You should stay away from wire hangers, as they will simply not have enough strength to support the heavier pieces of clothing you own.

  • Keeping clothes on the level

This means clothes you plan on wearing often should be within reach so you won’t lose any time finding them and using them. The last thing you want to deal with is looking for your clothes when you need to run for work. Make the setup in such a way as to improve your life and streamline the process of finding what you need in the shortest amount of time.

  • Changes by season

There are things you can’t really avoid and that is changing the wardrobe when the seasons change as well, so you would do well to put away your off-season clothes, placing them in a flat storage box or even vacuum bags if you want to conserve space.
