When choosing clothes, choose items that won't need to be ironed, are light and can be mixed and matched. Linen might look great on the hanger and be light but it is a pain to iron. Do you want to waste your holiday ironing? Here is my list of essential items to take on holiday and my favourite picks right now from various stores (for the ladies):

a. 1 pair Jeans - comfortable for wearing on the plane and when weather gets a bit cold in the evening. I have found Paige Jeans are incredibly comfortable and fit to my curves beautifully.

b. 2 bottoms - trousers, capri pants, cargo pants or skirtsThese Maje trousers are great for day and night.

c. 7 pairs of underweard. 5 bras - forget the lace and silk and go for the cotton bras. Marks and Spencer's T-shirt bras are ideal.

d. 3 pairs of shoes - flip flops for beach and going for breakfast, dressing up shoes (sandals, smart loafers) and trainers (if exercising or planning on walking a lot).I love my Havianas and will be buying these gorgeous tropical ones.

e. 5 Tops - choose loose clothes such as this one by J Crew.Or this very cool tshirt by Burberry Prosum (I am biased with it having London on it)

f. 1 Kaftan (or 2 dresses) - kaftans are so versatile and great to use on the beach, as a dress or a top. My favourite right now is this one by Vix:

g. 1 swimming costume, bikini or trunks.I am in love with this bikini set by M&S. :)

h. Pyjamas - Get light ones like this top and short combos from Calvin Klein

i. Small packet of washing detergent - Washing your clothes will save you carrying more clothes in your suitcase.Use these simple tips to make packing your clothes less stressful and more organised.

These tips can't help you avoid mosquito bites, sunburn, or airline delays, but they can make your summer travel less harried and more enjoyable. Bon voyage!
