Clutter Jail for the Toys

Do you look at the toys lying around in various rooms and wish they could go to Clutter Jail?After a certain period your children grow out of the toys and that is the time to declutter them in a systematic way.  Here are my tips on how to declutter the toys:

1. Sort through the toys and take a picture of the ones that you hold especially close to you. A photographic record of the toy will bring back the memories with less space taken.

2. Sort the toys out into piles

a. Broken

b. Donate

c. Collectible and worth a significant monetary value. 

d. Keep

3. Throw the toys that are unusable in the recycle bins.

4. Place the toys you are keeping in storage boxes/bins and label them.

5. Donate the toys to charities such as Dar Al Ber and Dubai Cares.

6. With the valuable toys - look at online auctions, ebay, etc for comparable toys in similar shape. Keep in mind that the price will depend on the location and condition of the toy. Price the toy and then sell it on an online store or if you are going to USA/Europe try and sell at an antique shop, etc.
