Decluttering Your Life and Your Mind

 Did you know that hanging onto clutter in your life can affect your mind, body and life in a negative way. There have been various reports issued showing the negative effects on people's lives on a daily basis. A lot of people lose money due to repeat purchases, unnecessary buys and forgetting to pay bills on time due to a cluttered life. Other negative effects of clutter include motivation, happiness and relationship with others.The infogram below shows the effect of clutter on people's lives and also how decluttering your life and your mind can positively improve your life.   Whilst it may seem daunting there are ways to slowly start decluttering your life. Here are my tips to start quickly decluttering and organizing:

a. Spend 15 minutes a day walking around your home with a cardboard box and fill it with items that you do not use, like or are broken. You will find you can fill up the box very quickly within a few days.

b. If you buy something new, donate, throw or sell 2 old items

.c. Organize a small area each week. Start with a table in your living room and progress to different areas within your home.

d. Remember everything should have a place. If there is no place for that item, should it be in your home?

e. Remember it took you weeks, months or even years to gather so much clutter, so decluttering can not be instantaneous.
