160207 Why Hiring a Professional Organizer Will Pay for Itself

If you had a broken water tank, you would hire a plumber right? Or you lost the internet you would call the telecomms company to fix it. So if you are buried in clutter and can't get organised, wouldn't you call a professional organizer to help you? There is no need to feel shame for asking for help with your clutter as there is no shame in asking for help for your internet service to be fixed.Hiring a Professional Organizer is often considered a luxury, but if you want to clear the stress that clutter is causing you, then it is a necessity.  Often I will have potential clients argue that my services are not worth the expense, but here are some examples of why hiring a professional organizer will pay for itself:

  1. Moving Home - how many times have you moved apartments or villas and realised you have unopened boxes from the last move going to the new place? You keep taking up valuable storage room or bedroom space with these items and also wasting money for the removal company to move the items to each new place. Before the move, the organizer can help you declutter the items that are not needed in your life anymore. You will be then left with the items that can be easily packed and save you money in moving and storage costs.

  2. Selling Your Home - when selling your home, you want it to look as neat, organized and appealing as possible to get higher and more offers on your home. An organizer can help you declutter the items that are not needed in your home (also uesful for the inevitable move) and can also advise how to arrange your home to make it look tidy, spacious and more organized for potential buyers.

  3. Items you Do Not Use - I often have clients keeping items from years ago still with their tags on . They have never used the item and will never use it (especially if they are (un)fashionable clothes). An Organizer has no emotional attachment to you or the items so can help you make an unbiased decision whether to keep, sell or throw away the item. Selling is a struggle here as everyone wants to buy something for next to nothing, but there are a lot of charities that would be happy to take a lot of the items to donate to needy families.

  4. Storage Units - the storage unit business is growing exponentially here every year. Great for these businesses, but not so great for your bank account if you are paying a monthly storage fee for items you never look at. Review the items in the store room with your Organizer and determine if you really need those items in your life. There is no sense in storing something which has less value than what you’re paying to store it. The payout will vary based on how much you’re paying per month for your storage unit.

If your situation falls within one of the categories above, think about how much money you are wasting on not removing the clutter and how nice it will be to live in a richer, stress free, decluttered, comfortable life.
