App of the Week - Evernote

If you do not follow me on social media, you may not be aware of my deep love for Evernote. Evernote is an electronic notebook which you can download as an app on your smart phones and computers as well as access online.  The main use of the app is to create notes. You can create various notebooks to store your notes - I have Personal, Decluttr Me and Recipe notebooks.  (There is Evernote Food which is supposed to be used for recipes but didn't find it as user friendly so have stuck with Evernote.)The notes are automatically tagged by Evernote to enable you to easily search for a note using words contained within in, eg passport number. There is also a new feature which allows you to create checklists which are ideal to create shopping lists. I have a main shopping list which is always referred to and add additional items when needed to the end of this list. You can see my list here:

The great thing about Evernote being on your phone is that you can create a note when it comes to your head via your smart phone or computer. Whenever, I am in the kitchen or bedroom and have a thought and pop it into my notebook. It is also possible to move your emails into Evernote to deal with at a later date and to remove from your inbox. I am not a fan of using too many apps to create more work for yourself especially for your mailbox;  however it may be helpful to enable you to be more organised. If you need more information on this, you can read it here.

Whilst you can use the operating systems built in notebooks, they are not as nice looking, user friendly and sync friendly as Evernote. Also as Evernote evolve, there are new ways to stay organised on a daily basis.

A highly recommended app for all people to stay organised! Let me know if you use Evernote and what you think about it.
